Of course, the «collaborators» and other professional «sceptics» will cry foul, claiming these figures are false or manipulated (it must be said that they know what they’re talking about).
The thing is, however, that the mortality statistics quoted in the article are comparable to those found across the Atlantic during the same period – and, in fact, everywhere else – whether for pneumonia, yellow fever, etc. It is solely thanks to homeopathy’s remarkable success in treating all these serious epidemic diseases that it has developed and remained popular amongst patients.
The mortality figures are clear: 50% deaths amongst all patients treated with conventional medicine, compared with fewer than 10% amongst those who received homeopathic treatment (regardless of the prescriber’s qualifications).
‘Of course,’ you might say, ‘these gentlemen were merrily bleeding their patients, who were already suffering from fluid loss, thereby only accelerating the fatal course of the disease.’ To this one must reply that homeopaths were already denouncing the aberrations of conventional medicine, which remain the same today, albeit using different methods. As ever, few people were willing to listen to us, and the profession’s criminal obstinacy was supported by the media of the time.
The current «treatment» consists of giving patients fluids and electrolytes and waiting for «it to pass». Only those who learn about medicine from newspapers will be satisfied with this claim. You only need to go out into the field to realise the horror of it: these patients are vomiting and suffering from diarrhoea (which is drained through a hole in the stretcher) for weeks on end.
I myself had the opportunity to verify these spectacular results in Haiti immediately after the earthquake, where I treated all the patients with the same remedy, namely Phosphorus. It was easy to determine the indication based on the symptoms of the first case, who presented with unbearable heat in the back between the shoulder blades; for anyone who has studied homeopathy even a little, this is what is known as a keynote of the remedy. Compared with 1884, homeopathy has made considerable progress, particularly in the method of administering remedies, as the flawless score has reminded us.
All patients recovered within a few hours, except for one elderly woman in poor general health, who took several days to recover. The results were such that, as there was no longer any need for intravenous drips, the representative of the «humanitarian» organisation managing these products came to confront me in person. With the support of the hospital director, these parasites were shown the door. Homeopathy will always be a thorn in the side of profiteers. Subsequently, news of the homeopathic treatment spread throughout the country, and even doctors with no experience of homeopathy resorted to using Phosphorus as a last resort, with the same success.
These epidemic situations illustrate the whole problem with medicine. On the one hand, there is an industry with its treatments to be applied indiscriminately to all patients. Look at the advertisements at the end of the article – still in their infancy as mere remedies, but which the chemical industry would later seize upon to generate colossal profits and ‘manufacture consent’, as Edward Bernays put it.
On the other hand, the only form of rational medicine consists of assessing the manifestation of the disease through a few initial cases in order to determine the remedy to be used to treat the outbreak.
The first system is profit-driven, whilst the second is aimed at curing the sick.
